Charter schools are required by Minnesota statute to have an authorizer. The school authorizer is approved by the MN Department of Education to help bring charter schools into existence and hold them accountable to the state.

Our authorizer, the Audubon Center of the North Woods, provides oversight in order to ensure we fulfill our purposes and responsibilities as public charter school in the state of Minnesota, as well as honor the obligations agreed upon in our contract with ACNW. This is achieved through regular monitoring and oversight, as well as comprehensive performance evaluations of schools which ultimately informs reauthorization decisions.
